Happy New Year!

It’s 2017 and a fresh year to start with! We hope you had a great holiday season and that you’re having a great year so far.

We’ve been in the studio writing and recording. Right now we have a bunch of songs we are trying out to see what sticks and what doesn’t. Sometimes you have a batch that fits with each other or doesn’t… the only way to find out is to demo them and play the songs over and over again until the answer becomes clear.

If you haven’t already done so, please check out our Instagram page for more daily happenings and whatnots. We’re up to 18,700+ followers… wow! Whether you’re following us there or elsewhere, thank you for the support and the love. We hope to have new music up for you as soon as we can!

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone! We got together today and recorded a cover of “Please Come Home For Christmas,” one of our favorite Christmas songs. It’s a sad one, that’s for sure.

We hope you enjoy it and as always, thank you for the support!!!

Back on the Stage…

It’s been great getting back on the stage. We haven’t played out since late 2015, as we were focusing on finishing the EP, building social media, and reworking how we want to present ourselves.

It was fun playing acoustic, but our original vision was to go out with a fuller, more rounded band sound. We spent days upon days arranging, rehearsing, and learning the new gear we acquired… finally performing with it at Stackz was exciting and fulfilling for us.

The Stackz Co. has always been like home for us. We pretty much started there and it’s a thrill and joy to play there. Emerson (one of the owners) and company welcome us with open arms and even promote the show with one of the coolest badasses in cinematic history:

Super cool.

We played our longest show yet, clocking in at 2 hours (with a break in between!). The crowd was awesome and we can’t wait to go back in a few months.

Our setlist was comprised of originals and covers, most of the songs were worked out on our new setup with the computer and stuff. After we finished the night, we looked at each other and said, “We did it!” It was a proud moment. Not even a year ago, we were an acoustic duo. Now, we are playing the music the way we have been wanting to.IMG_9545.jpeg

Thomas has his hands full!

We have shows booked for the next few months. We’ll be hitting the LA area as well as playing out in the Inland Empire and San Diego. The miles will pile on for the KATF mobile, but we’re not complaining at all. It’s great to be back on the stage. We can’t wait to meet you all!

Check out our shows page for our upcoming performances!!!!

The Going Ons…

This year has been about growth for us. We have grown on social media, and we’ve finished recording the first EP. It has taken a bit longer than first anticipated, but what matters is that it’s done and we are so excited to release it!

We will be playing shows again this summer, which we haven’t done since late last year. Taking the time off from shows has been good, though, as it gave us time to focus on the recordings, the songwriting, and further our focus on what we want to do. Sometimes taking a step back is just what you need to take a leap forward.

The EP was recorded at our own studio except for the vocals to one track… that was done at Melrose Music Studios in Los Angeles with David Williams. He’s been a huge supporter of KATF and it was a fantastic experience tracking with him.

So be on the lookout for our EP and shows! We can’t wait to get back out there. Thank you for sticking with us and come say hello at our next performance!

2016… Here We Come!!!

2015 has been an incredible year.

We ended 2014 with our first show at The House of Blues in San Diego, which was such an amazing night! We saw so many friends and family… made new friends… just an amazing night.

We played so many shows in 2015, met so many people.

We wrote some (hopefully great) songs, recorded a bunch of covers and videos.

In the last few months of 2015, we hit social media hard and see it growing every day (are you connected with us? If not, click here to see all our social media sites!).

We started recording our EP and we’re looking to finish it at the start of 2016.

We are stronger as a group, we are more dedicated and committed… and we can’t wait to see what happens next.

We couldn’t have done any of this without you all out there, supporting and cheering us on. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you!

Happy New Year from Kaity and The Flood!!!
