Back on the Stage…

It’s been great getting back on the stage. We haven’t played out since late 2015, as we were focusing on finishing the EP, building social media, and reworking how we want to present ourselves.

It was fun playing acoustic, but our original vision was to go out with a fuller, more rounded band sound. We spent days upon days arranging, rehearsing, and learning the new gear we acquired… finally performing with it at Stackz was exciting and fulfilling for us.

The Stackz Co. has always been like home for us. We pretty much started there and it’s a thrill and joy to play there. Emerson (one of the owners) and company welcome us with open arms and even promote the show with one of the coolest badasses in cinematic history:

Super cool.

We played our longest show yet, clocking in at 2 hours (with a break in between!). The crowd was awesome and we can’t wait to go back in a few months.

Our setlist was comprised of originals and covers, most of the songs were worked out on our new setup with the computer and stuff. After we finished the night, we looked at each other and said, “We did it!” It was a proud moment. Not even a year ago, we were an acoustic duo. Now, we are playing the music the way we have been wanting to.IMG_9545.jpeg

Thomas has his hands full!

We have shows booked for the next few months. We’ll be hitting the LA area as well as playing out in the Inland Empire and San Diego. The miles will pile on for the KATF mobile, but we’re not complaining at all. It’s great to be back on the stage. We can’t wait to meet you all!

Check out our shows page for our upcoming performances!!!!

August…

with David Williams

with David Williams

August is going to be a fun month for us. We have three shows coming up, thanks to David Williams at Melrose Records. He has been so supportive and we are incredibly grateful for the invites to perform.

The last show at Nue Studio was awesome! The room sounded great… we debuted a new song in the setlist:

One and the Same

The Last Place That Love Lives

Love Me Anyway <– hey hey! new song!

Love Ain’t Always on My Side

I’d Rather Go Blind

Hmmmm… 3 of the 5 songs have the word, “love,” in the title. Hmmmm… interesting. No idea what that means… but it must mean something awesome.

IMG_2633We’d also like to thank Eddie Cunningham for the love. He’s a fantastic singer/songwriter that we met at the Bulldog Pub a few months back. His big heart and voice have been wonderful to experience… catch Eddie and his band, Brotherhood, playing around Southern California. They’re definitely a band you want to see!

This summer has been full of happenings. Thanks to all that are coming to the shows, listening to the music, sharing our stuff online… you have no idea how much it means to us!

Speaking of online, be sure to follow us on all these social media sites! Stay updated! We’ve got plenty of stuff coming up… the August show dates and times will be announced soon. You won’t want to miss it!

The Royal Southern Brotherhood and Bart Walker

Last night we went to see The Royal Southern Brotherhood play. Incredible show. The musicianship on stage was mind-blowing… and the songs they played were nothing short of inspiring, to say the least.

What made the night even more special was that a friend of ours, Bart Walker, plays in the band. We met up with Bart at his hotel room a few hours before the show and sat around, chatting, laughing, and talking about music, his guitars, and his time with the RSB.

Oh, and we watched him eat his dinner…

Bart’s mastery of the guitar is truly something to witness. His fluid playing appears effortless… could not stop watching his hands. His mastery at eating calzones is also pretty spectacular.

After the show, we went backstage and snapped a photo with the man himself.

Why yes, that IS Devon Allman in the back.

Thank you, Bart and the RSB, for such a memorable night!

House of Blues, San Diego

We had a great time at the House of Blues on December 30! What a great turnout! Thanks to everyone that made that night so memorable for us!

I’d Rather Be Blind

Love Ain’t Always On My Side
